Saw this on TV in a small town in Texas. The guy who owns the place says he sells it like crazy ;D
Had to use store bought bacon this time.

Breaded and then fried. I use House-Autry.

If your watching your cholesterol this is not for you ;D
nepas
I'm watching it. But I can watch it climb every now and then as well.
That looks seriously good NePaS. That plate would just about be my portion. Is that a dry breading kind of like a cornmeal breading like frying catfish?

My gastric doc would say great your eating protein BUT dont fry it :D
Nepas,
The Texas State Fair in Dallas is the grandmaster of fried food. It all started with Fletcher's corn dogs which are still a fair staple. Now they have a slew of fried foods competing for your dollar. A few are fried ice cream, fried Snickers, fried peanut butter- jelly - banana, fried peaches and cream, fried coke, fried latte, fried cookie dough and this year was a first for fried butter.
But I have never seen chicken fried bacon. I guess I will have to double my Crestor cholesterol lowering drug. My cardiologist will be really happy about this one.
Thanks.
Good luck and more medication,
Pachanga
I don't care what you are watching...
That's not good for it, unless maybe you are a Sumo wrestler trying to make weight! ;D
I didn't say it didn't look GOOD!
Maybe bacon-wrapped smoked chicken-fried twinkies!
OK OK
Going to do a bacon wrapped breaded fried twinkie ;D
My wife is gunna kill me :D ;D
IL State Fair has it's share of that kind of stuff as well...

nepas - You only made half the recipe. Sodolak's (the place in Snook, TX, that invented it about 20 years ago) serves it with cream gravy for dipping.
Whenever I think of that stuff, my arteries tremble in both fear and anticipation.

yeah i know. was lazy this morning.
Squirt,
Nice banner. That says it all.
Look in the lower right corner. It says Garland, TX. Garland is a suburb of Dallas. We are not greedy when it comes to sharing death by grease good food. You should have stopped those foreigners at the border.
Good luck and I think I'll take another pill with a beer chaser,
Pachanga
Man I got to try this. I am already on cholesterol meds and heart meds, but I don't think I am using them to their full potential. Time to pressure test them ;D
I looked at this title and thought..... oh no he didn't.
Yes he did, LOL.
They would be taking my Dr. to the hospital if she seen me eating something like that. ;D
Actually my cholesterol is really good so I do not think a plate or two would hurt. ;) ;D

They mix the coke with dough and then fry it up and pour coke syrup over the top. Had them at the Bloomsburg fair this year. Wasnt that great.
This bit of chicken fried bacon didnt last long this morning ;D Like KH said you need country gravy for dipping.
nepas
That looks great Nepas! Doing breakfast food for dinner tonight, since we have the odd snowstorm here, I think that may have found a place on the menu!

Ya see... If ya cut back on your cholesterol, your body will just manufacture more.
Everyone has a natural level of it, and you can't change it much, no matter what you do.
At least that's what I read on the internet, so it must be true.
PASS THAT PLATE, NePaS!

That sounds mighty good. Got a gravy recipe to go with it?
There's an idea! SAUSAGE GRAVY!
Tomorrows chicken fried canadian bacon ;D
(http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o290/stlthy1/DSCF5686.jpg)
Canadian Bacon gravy
2 Tbs of the CB grease
3 Tbs House-Autry flour
1 1/2 cups milk
Heat grease and add the flour. Make a roux, stir until flour gets brown. Add milk and stir until thick.
nepas
Ok... just garnish it with sausage.
Thanks Nepas.
I have this book marked and will be making it!
Chicken fried CB is on hold this morning. Gotta go get eggs ;D
Taking the new Jeep out in the snow to play? ;D
Nepas, Nepas, Nepas,
What are you doing to yourself? ::) Your wife will not kill you for this move.......the chicken fried bacon will do it for her.
It does look and taste good though. I saw the same program and tried it. Yum yum.

Yeah this is one of them only eat it once a year things.
It does look delicious but I really don't need a coronary trombone. Scotland has one of the, if not the highest rate of coronary disease in Europe and they dearly love their sweet battered and deep fried candy bars right after a dinner of fish and chips. Tastes great but oh my what a price to pay. Once a year should do it for that bacon.

I always loved it that in England you order fish & chips while in Scotland you only have to order a fish dinner because everything comes with chips.
