My wife wanted meatloaf, so she put it together, i put 2 hours of smoke to it then she finished in the oven (i really dont like that) but she wanted it for lunches. I added some CT and some BAM smashed taters  ;D

Meatloaf and smashed taters are great comfort food on these cold wintry nights.  Looks good NePas.  BTW, I love those dishes.  I'm gonna have to find some.  Good for dieting.  They make it look like you have more food than you actually have.

Happy New Year NePas and family.

Gotta do me a meatloaf one day. Seems like it would just suck up the smoke.

CRG,
Smoked meatloaf is nothing but delicious.  I put some of my favorite BBQ sauce and favorite rub in the meat along with the usual meatloaf ingredients.  Then use the same BBQ sauce to baste the top of the meatloaf during the last 30-45 minutes of cook time.

Kynola,

I spent 14 years trying to get a recipe for Curry Ketchup, to recreate the Curry Wurst that I ate all the time when I was stationed in Germany. I finally found a recipe that once tweaked was the closest thing I could find to a perfect match. Making a meatloaf I was instructed to put ketchup on top. I improvised and put some of the curry ketchup on there. It was a huge success, and is how we have made from that point on. Lucky for you I am feeling generous!!!

Curry Ketchup

1 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Dry Mustard
2 Tbsp Vinegar
Mix all together and place over Brat or sausage, shake curry powder liberally over the top.

Goes good on top of meatloaf, without the curry powder as well during the last 15 minutes of the cook.

OU812,
I'm pretty sure that you're the guy who turned me on to the BBQ sauce and rub in the meat and sauce on top so I do mine just like you.

Thanks my friend.
