new user goin to start smokin some of the critters i got this year. but none of the recipes say how much smoke. say on a sausage to cook/smoke for 4-5hrs is half the time to much. i know its preference but i dont want to eat on a cig. pack

I would suggest no more than four.
I would start with two.
It also depends on what flavor. Mesquite and Hickory are stronger that Apple or Alder
