Title: Ham Snack sticks
Post by: love the smoke on January 08, 2010, 04:02:18 PM
Anybody have a good recipe for ham snack sticks

Brother got one of them pressed "fake" ham fro Christmas and they don't really like to eat it the way it is so was wondering if there was a way to make snack sticks out of it?

So does anyone have a good recipe to make something tasty out of something that may not be ?

Thanks

That might already be processed with some sort of nitrates. If you grind the ham mix some water in with it like 1/4 cup, then stuff into casings with 3 pucks and heat starting at 150* ramping up to 175*. It prob wont take long to do the sticks.

Is the ham pre cooked? if it is take the stick IT to 145*

You wont need much heating time for the sticks then.
