Title: Culinanaria in the United Staes
Post by: car54 on January 12, 2010, 04:39:55 AM
"CULINARIA IN THE UNITED STATES", my wife brought this book home to look at . Here is a brief synopsis.

"The United States: A Culinary Discovery" is a collection of select food-related subjects exploring the world of American cuisine. The book takes the reader on a journey through America, a trip that any food-loving tourist will relish"

It is like a travelogue, cook book and history lesson in one book. 512 pages long, large dimensionally and with many color pictures.

I just ordered a used one and am looking forward to it. I think that it is a book worth having. It was published in 1998. New ones go for $150.00 but used ones can be found. Search this # on google.
ISBN: 3829002599

I saw that book in an airport recently..

(which is ironic, because it's 500 pages and weighs almost 8 pounds - not airplane lap material!)

Lots of $25 used copies here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/3829002599/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used).

The Italian (http://www.amazon.com/Culinaria-Italy-Pasta-Passion-Cooking/dp/0841603650/ref=pd_sim_b_7) one looks pretty neat as well.

Yep, fun and good book.  As are the other ones in the "series".  Have several.  Our Borders bookstores usually have them in their markdown section.
