Once again ........ do a little research and find out what is going on.  NRA is using this one to do a phone membership drive.  Yes I'm a member.

Once again, If you can put your trust into the NRA, dig deeper. I know many members also and this is a new one to them.

You better wake up. The world you live in is just a sugar-coated topping! There is another world beneath it - the real world. And if you wanna survive it, you better learn to pull the trigger!

Gotta love these big shots with armed private bodyguards pushing for hand gun bans.
Take away the armed guards and see how they squauk.

The link that Yooper Jim posted is on spot.  Most of my neighbors are gun owners and Dems. They are not about to vote in someone who wants to take their guns.

I've posted this before. In England where owning a gun is all but impossible a while back there was a movement to try ban kitchen knives in order to save peoples lives. People killing people with kitchen knives...Kitchen knives be bad. Take knives away from people and no more killings. What it next? Bows and arrows, or what about BB guns.

Whether it is guns, knives, bows - arrows, a garden hoe or an axe it is people who kill people.

Check it out yourself about the kitchen knives ban effort in England. Just Google "ban of kitchen knives England.

I am not passing judgment on the policies of a foreign country because it is none of my business. I have owned guns, my dad owns guns and we are a family of hunters. I live in the city of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. We are a city of almost 1 million people and we had 11 murders last year. The last one I know was a stabbing, another a man beat his wife to death, can't say how the other nine were committed. We have fairly strict gun controls here  though no one is banned arbitrarily. I think 1 murder per 100,000 residents is something to be proud of and worth a little inconvenience when it is time to purchase a gun.

I totally agree.  I know that some will slip through so let's get real. If I wanted a gun without a background check it is not a problem.

Neverthless, background checks do stop some of the crazies.

Background checks stop sane law abiding people from buying a gun that day and committing a crime on that day.

Ditto!

It's funny cause the people who are committing most of the crimes are the ones released from prison who are not supposed to have access to guns, yet they still manage to buy them illegally.

All we have to do is make it against the law for felons to own/possess guns. ::)

Oh snap, that law exists in most states, guess the only other thing is enforcement.  Kind of like illegal immigration, no one wants to look like the bad guy and enforce laws that are already on the books.... :-\

Making it against the law for a felon or a criminal to own or operate a firearm is the only gun law you need...adding additional laws to this does nothing. This is already stated in the constitution.

Currently there are over 35,000 gun laws on the books.
