OU, if you're every looking to upgrade, I'll be happy to offer fair $$ for your 'antique'.   ;)

I'm thinking I need a PID from my 6 rack DBS.   I've seen the link here but can't find it right off.    Someone please post it again.

Thanks.    Which one of the 4 do you suggest for the 6 tray DBS.   Seems I read something here that different units work on particular smokers and not others.

I would go with any of the 1st 3. Decide what features you want, they all will work with your DBS6 rack.

The nice thing about the Auber dual probe is that with a Maverick ET-73 you can monitor IT of two meats.

And with the Maverick ET-7 you can monitor 3.

Which one did you finally decide on, the less or more expensive one?

My cousin always said the guy who dies with the most toys wins!

It was hard enough to convince She Who Must Be Obeyed that it was necessary to part with $75 for the Ranco - I would love it, but an Auber PID would be a tough sell...

Just use my strategy.

"Baby, what do you want me to try and cook with it first?" ;D

Sometimes it's easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Aah so you have a SWMBO (swimbo) like Ka hona too. See you are going about it all wrong, this how it's done. Now this takes about a month to do but it works. You have to establish the threshhold of acceptance which is...oh.. lets say $90 a month. So you tell her "it would really make our life easier if you had this PID that only cost $90 with tax". So you get the ok on the dough and you pretend you have gotten it and you just don't let her out to ask dumb questions while you are smoking. Then the next month you say" baby my heating element burned out and a new one is $90 with tax". So now you get the ok on that cause you told her this big long story about how you could use it the way it is for awhile but it will cost 4 times as much in electricity so it would just be best to get the element. So now you are ok'd for a total of $180. You order the PID and have it delivered to your work, bring it home and she is none the wiser. Ok now make sure that none of the MRS's on here see this or the jig is up for all of us and it will be your fault. ;D ;D

We have this used car dealership in a small town a bit south of here...
They still have the old Turbo 911 that I'm never gonna get...
http://girardauto.net/stock.asp?m=5

See.. the thing is... if ya start out with something like, "Honey, I've been lookin' at a real nice package of 12 socks at Wally World"...
Well...  Then, it's kinda hard to "settle" on a smoker.

BTW...  I'm charging for the seminar.  That's a freebie.
Awrighten.
