Mrs S here.
I went to the orthopedic surgeon this am.
He took xrays and removed the staples and casted the foot.
He was very pleased with how the ankle is healing, however.
BUT, I am to remain off of it for another 4 weeks.
I don't go back to see him until March 1, and hopefully at that time I will get to start walking again!!!!
In the meantime, I am sporting a lovely powder blue cast. 8)
I suppose that is good news that it is healing well, sorry to hear about the 4 weeks.
That is great news, that A: You are healing like the DR hoped for & B: You get to live on the forum for 4 more weeks!
I had coolers I was putting up and wasn't watching where I was going yesterday and tripped and fell on the left side of my left knee cap.
Woke up this morn and it is twice the size of other knee.
Geez! I feel like Chester on "Gunsmoke".
Get that checked out, CRG, if it does not get any better.....maybe you can sport a blue wrap around that knee - NOT.
FLB, I am fine with whatever the doctor says. It could have been so much worse.
When I was in the waiting room this am, a young man - probably late teens or early twenties - was waiting for his appointment. He had been in a car accident, and he was quite banged up. I felt sorry for him. He looked like he was in a LOT of pain.
June I'm so glad your doing better but I just have to sit here and Laugh. Because that's 4 more weeks Scott gets to work on his inner Hazel!! ;D walking the dog and doing laundry and cooking supper. I hear he is going to give Tasha baths from now on and do the nail trimming!!! Maybe you can get him to do your nails ;D ;D ;D
Good to here things are healin well. Another 4 weeks will fly by.
Those 4 weeks will fly by June
Just think you get to be pampered for another 4 weeks ;) ;)
Take care
Brian
Poor guy - he probably loves going to work to get away from me now!
Best of luck or good healing.
While my wife has a problem walking, I'm soon to be 60 and while I do have problems I'm still able to keep up with the young employees. I feel your pain. I know of limitations. God Speed in your healing.
Olds
Thanks, Olds! I do think the time will fly by. I can always watch Forensic Files on tv..... ;D
Wow, 4 more weeks, sorry to hear that, but its better than saying 30 more days.
Mrs. Glad to hear things are moving along in a positive
direction. The next 4 weeks will go smoothly, after all
you have us to help..... :o
Sorry to hear your butt will be sore for 4 more weeks, from having to sit on it. :D :D :D I know how you feel, I once did a fractured dislocation of the left ankle with a fracture of the Tibula and Fibula plus torn ligaments. I was not allowed to put any weight on my foot for 9 months. I got pretty good with those crutches. Upstairs, downstairs, diving board on the swimming pool and I rode my ATC 250R one week after my crash which never would have happened if I had been riding my own trike.

Glad to hear you're coming along nicely June. Listen to the doc. You start moving around much too soon and you'll probably take even longer to heal. Patience. :)

Ya listen to the doc.
I shattered my wrist in a motorcycle accident and had to were a cast from the tip of my fingers to the elbow. The next week I was rinding my bike again, took a spill and sucked up the pain then the week after that I couldnt take it any more. Went to the doc and boy was he mad, I totally messed up everything he did. This time when he reset everything it REALLY HURT. I ended up wearing the cast for 10 more weeks. Wont do that again.
Enjoy your time off, I know this sittin around crap is drivin you crazy, it does me

Mrs
Yepper he was. My Mother watches ever rerun of that show there is. In fact she lives on the Western Channel. :D
I had to chuckle with the names Festus, Fester.....it reminded me of Festivus, that mythical holiday from Seinfeld..... :)
A festivus for the rest of us.
Glad to hear it's healing well MrsS...
You take your time and stay OFF it until it heals.
Otherwise, you might end up walkin' like FESTUS, who did have the limp, and ironically, often used the term "measley-footed mule" ;D
How are you doing Mrs.?
Hope all is going very well.
Anything we can do to help from here?
UIS, I am doing JUST FINE. I feel bad for Scott. He works all day, then has to fix dinner, do dishes, yada, yada, yada.....
We have Cook'n on our computer, so I have been putting in all of these recipes that we have gathered over the years. We have a LOT of recipes!
Tasha still does not understand why I can't play with her like I did before I fell. She is very protective now, too, in that she barks at the slightest noise.
I am looking forward to when I can start using both feet again. I had a dream last night that I was walking all over town on both feet, saying "It does not hurt at all...." I woke up wondering if I had been walking..... ::)
I do know that I will be investing in a pair of cleats, and that I will wear them whenever the ground looks the least bit slick.....
Thanks for the concern! Believe me when I say that I am doing well. Seemore is the one I am worried about.
Mrs.
Hi June,
Glad you're recovering nicely. Stop walking all around town ;D
You might want to take a look at these YakTrax. My wife and I both mount them on a spare (old) pair of shoes so we can slip 'em on when things are a bit icy. They work very well.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_3?url=search-alias%3Dsporting&field-keywords=yaktrax&sprefix=yak
Note, don't ever wear them on a tile floor. It's like ice skating!
Thanks, Arnie! Believe me, I will look into them!
Mrs
You gotta watch those yada yada yadas, they have a tendancy to hold some good secrets.
Ah! Another Seinfeld fan!!!!! 8)
I think I've seen every episode 3 times. :D
