i just bought a few full slabs of ribs and they have the tip on them to i cut it off or leave them on? rib up or down

I like to square them up ala St Louis style and then cook all the peices together.

The peices finish first and gives you some tongue candy while you are waiting for the slabs to finish.

This is on FULL slabs of pork ribs.

I also cutt the top bone off to help square up.

Makes for a nicer looking presentation.

You might have to bend the ribs in the beginning to make them fit the rack, but they will shrink some.

I remove the skirt meat from the back side also.
