Had a craving for some smoked peanuts, so I grabbed what I had on hand.

Smoked for 2 hr with pecan with a cabnet temp of 250 F and stirred them up a couple times till they were dry. Took about 6 hr start to finish.
Good stuff.
MMMMMM Peanuts
Looks good OU
I tried the Franks Red Hot Wing sauce on peanuts last time. They were tasty but not nearly hot enough. I think next time I try them I'll make up my own sauce, and cut back on the vinegar also. I smoked them for a couple hours and finished in the dehydrator. They came out good.
They both needed more heat, the Franks had a nice crust from the sugar in it.
I got 2 jars of planters on a bogo deal.
Franks is not hot enough... should I put them in a vac cannister with some crystal / tabasco ?
The Franks I used was the "Sweet Heat BBQ" and the heat rating on the label was down below mild.
I am goin to put some Tabasco sauce in the next batch.
They look yummy, OU!

I mix the peanuts and sauce in a bowl then dump on the rack and straight in the smoker. Then stir the nuts every hr till they dont stick together any more.
Try Franks Xhot sauce with melted butter and maybe a little honey if you want some sweetness.

I was thinkin the same thing without the butter, but now that you mention it the butter does sound good.
Thanks pens
I did pistachios (I called them buffalo nuts) with Franks, butter, garlic powder and seasoned salt. Great flavor but most have wanted more heat. I should have opened one of the jars of twisted chicken sauce. ;D Icema'sn has a bit more heat than Franks.
Franks makes an Xhot sauce as well, a bit more heat but the same flavor. I can always add some dried habs or nagas if someone wants more heat. ;D

Goin to kick the heat up next time, I did these kinda mellow so the folks at work dont freak out. Next time the peanuts will be the way I like em, SPICY.

There you go lure them in with the mild then sneak in the hot next time!!
