I use the HM cure with my own spices. No wetness here.

This is the cure I use: http://shop.himtnjerky.com/online/product.php?productid=16215&cat=286&page=1

This is the post on how I do it: http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=12391.0

I don't have a recipe but I use the Hi Mountain Jerky kits.    They're a combination of spices and cure that you sprinkle on the jerky and let sit for 24 hours before smoking.

I don't think it is pure cure #1, it is a mix, similar to Mortons tender quick.
