I just got done with a maple bacon smoke and when I unplugged my PID to take in the house I noticed a rattling noise inside, has anybody taken one of these apart before, or should I just shoot an email off to Auber

I'd fire off an email. It's probably something that worked itself loose inside. If it's metal it could do a lot of damage.

Wll if that isn't customer service, fired off email and 2-3 hours later had an answer in a PDF document with pictures ( I like pictures) and on a Sunday to yet

nothin series just one of the terminals inside the plug in a little loose, all fixed up
