My wife gave me a "Sausage Making Course" for Christmas, and I just went on it last night.  I was pretty cool...  but not so much for learning how to make sausage (That's what this section of the forum is for IMHO)....  but to get to play with some BIG sausage making toys!!  These are pretty much the exact models of mincer of stuffer we were using:

It was a lot of fun...  especially when the guy deliberately loaded up the stuffer with an air pocket to demonstrate just how much pressure can build up.  It was pretty damn funny to see the poor girl who happened to be stuffing at the time jump as highly pressurised meat blew across the room!!

Anyway, time to buy a stuffer.  My local butcher has agreed to mince for me using his big machine (as long as I buy his meat).... which will be very helpful...  and means I've got double the budget now for a decent stuffer!  ;D

Yeah, it was a lot of fun.  Unfortunately it seems to have spoiled me, as all the teeny little hand-cranked ones I'm looking at now to buy for personal use are just not exciting me much at all  :( :( :(

I'm getting close to buying this one:

There is also a 3 litre model (http://www.sausagemaking.org/acatalog/Pro-V_3L_Stainless_Steel_Stuffer.html), but the 5 litre isn't much more, so I'll probably get that if I go with this make.

Anyone used this make?  It might be a Europe only model...  but I'm sure many of you have used similar models.

That looks nice.   Me, I've got an old stuffer ;).   Been around for 100+ years.   Of course I haven't owned it quite that long ;)

Expat go with the 5L if the price difference isn't that big. OU812 has a model similar to that one.

For the price diff I would go for the 5 litre, the stainless steel stuffin tubes are definlety a pluss.

The high and low gears are sweet, low to pump out the sausage and the high to retract the piston is a great time saver when your doin large batches.

Not sure how many lb the 5 litre holds but mine holds 11 lb and I wish I had the 20 lb when doin summer sausage.

Well...  it would be at least 11lb I expect, as 5 litres of water weighs 5kg....

The Amish down in Lancaster use these allot. You can find them at garages sales, swap meets and estate sales down there for really cheap.

A friend of mine bought it on E-Bay along with others.     It's been refurbished.    It was sandblasted to get the rust off and then repainted.    I worked fantastic.   Seems to me it holds 20lbs
