Title: Smoke Generator
Post by: nwhipper on February 20, 2010, 06:54:54 PM
Hey everyone, I have had my OBS since last Christmas and I have had to clean the smoke generator before almost every smoke because if I don't the push plate won't retract all the way and I'll have to sit and watch just to make sure the next puck goes through. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

Your suppose to clean the smoke generator?  hmmm been using my OBS for years and haven't touched it yet except to take it on and off when bringing it with me on vacation.

That's the thing; if I don't clean the inside of mine it gets jammed and won't push the next puck forward

Hi nwhipper;

Welcome to the forum.

This is an odd problem. When you clean the generator, are you opening it up? If you are opening it, check all wiring for loose connections, especially the wire that plugs into the micro switch. It may look connected but not securely tight.

This link has a picture of the micro switch.

W E L C O M E  to the Forum nwhipper!

You aren't by chance using your smoker with the vent closed?

That will gum up your smoke generator.
