Title: Birthday weekend
Post by: squirtthecat on February 21, 2010, 03:14:13 PM

Hal and I took the wives down to St Louis this weekend for dinner, shopping, drinks.

We dropped them at the mall, and headed to Penzey's...  Wow, what a neat store.

I came out with a box of goodies to play with.

We still had time to kill, so we wandered into a Whole Foods. (now we know why Caney callls it 'Whole Paycheck')

Hal picked me up some BBQ sauces to add to my growing collection..

After a wonderful (and filling) dinner, we settled in at the Ritz near the dance floor to listen to a local jazz/swing band.
We might have had a drink or two. (or 20)

Now I can't wait for the weather to get nice again, so I can try some of these seasonings/sauces...

Sounds like a great Birthday trip.

I think you will like the Salt Lick, I know I do.

The spices .... WOW!

That Sate seasoning? must be really lite.

Looks likes it floating.

Glad you guys had a fun and safe trip!

Caney has been to the original restaurant and then I saw the rub and the sauce.

The rub is warm, the sauce is sweet. Great combeaux!

I'll send you some rub for your B-Day. I've got your addy.

I got to know!

How did you get that "Sate" spice to suspend in the air like that?

And what is Sate?

And what is Sate?

It was with all of their 'Curry' stuff.

I'm going to use it as a chicken/pork rub.
