Title: Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous
Post by: pensrock on February 25, 2010, 11:42:48 AM
I drove about 20 miles north today to the annual Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous. I wanted to go tomorrow but a blizzard is supposed to move in tonight so I went today instead. There are carvers there from all over the world. I seen people from Japan, Germany & Romania. As well as lots from PA and around the country. I would guess there were at least 100 carvers there.

I'll post a link to the photo album. There are two pages and too much to post here.

Tomorrow they can carve snowmen!

For a couple years they did carve ice. I think many will leave tomorrow if it gets too bad.

Thanks for the posting Pens, some great looking carvings there. I really like the one of the fish.

Give me a chainsaw and a piece of wood and I'll give you ....

Some sawdust. ;D

Those guys are talented.

Thanks Pens.

They have this event every year. Its something to see how they modify some of the saws for detail work. They may only have a 3-4 inch bar and others have a wheel on the tip of the bar. Many very talented carvers there. I wish I was back to work, I would have loved to bring something other than pictures home with me.
