Title: Temporary Protection My Site
Post by: Oldman on April 21, 2005, 03:23:02 AM
We have decided to gut out two of my sites. For the time being no one can access the Member Recipe Pages. No posting boards will be online until I change over to V board.

If things go as planned the Members Recipe Page will be back up by tomarrow night. It will take a week before we will have a posting board for the recipes to be edited etc...

The reason I did this is none of us can figure out how the hacker is getting in. He has moved from PHP to CGI hack so we are just gutting it all out. And starting over with a clean page.

Those of you I have granted upload rights your pictures are backed up however your fileman will no longer work. When all is said and done we will set you up with the newest protected upload program.

Wish there were some kind of of trap for these hackers . . . you know, a kind of "trap-door/Venus fly-trap/black hole" scheme that would detect the hackers presence and then let him/her hack into a place that he/she couldn't get out of.  I'm envisioning a hacker entering a site, hitting on the trap door area, and then is unable to get out without shutting down his computer.  Meanwhile, before he/she realizes the trap is sprung, his/her own identity is being revealed and left behind in the trap.  Fantasy, or could someone actually devise something like this?
