I went to Houston cause the people that had Future Smoker 1 said it wasn't sold.
Well it was, SOLD, Gone.
After I bitch a bit about the cost and time of driving up there twice, (I didn't tell
them I was across the street at Allied Kencos) The guy said he had something that
might work for me. And boy did he.

This is what a 10lb Butt looks like on one rack.

I had taken the Back seats out of my Tahoe thinking I was bringing Home a smaller smoker (#1) but I made it. The top of the box was
at the edge of front seat and the back was 1/2 front rear glass window.
Inside measurements are 21"W X26"D X 58"H.
It wasn't "freepas" but it was very "cheappas"
NOW! The fun begins with what to do with it.
YEEEEEEEEEEE HAW!
Nice score!
Let the games begin.
I may be sleeping in it when Wifie gets home.
Oh Well. ;D
Maybe try looking up the patent numbers for a little info?
Nice score.
Sweet CRG!
How manny pork butts you figure you can get in there ? 30 ?
Nice!
And it has slam latches... (so you can kick the door shut w/ your butt if your hands are full)
I agree with Smokey. Google the patent #s. Might be tied to that manufacturer..
(otherwise, why would they bother putting them on the box?)
That should hold enough food for a good size party, so when do we show up? ;D
Nice Score CRG!! Does the heating element work in it? I see you building a PID to work on it and your off to the races.
I can see a couple nice suckling pigs hangin in there.
I tried googling the patent #'s and came up with a toilet flushing system. ;D
Those racks 20 x 25 would hold easily 6 butts and there are 8 racks.
I might hard wire the element to see if it heats up.
The controls went to 230* or maybe 225*
Sounds like your in business then keep us posted.

On second thought, I'm busy that weekend. Have to plan the party without me. :P
Man if that heating element works, you are all but in business. Vent on the top and a smoke generator through the side and PRESTO! Monster smoker.
Great find.
CRG!
i don't know anything about building a smoker but I would have taken that thing home because it's just so shiny and pretty! :D

Cool
I'm technically challenged when it comes to electrical wiring and heating elements. I can't wait to see the end product. Well done CRG.

I have all kind of challenges and I know the only way I will be able to do it is with help from the Forum or pay someone.
I have some thoughts as to what I want to achieve and what I hope will work, but that is my limit.

That's the beauty of what you're doing. That's going to be one heck of a smoker. I'm so jealous.
That is for sure. you couldn't ask for a better cabinet than that. Sweet deal Sonny.
Nice score there CRG.
It would great if the element and controller work.
Should make a nice smoker when it's up and running!
Are you planning on using a Bradley smoke generator on it?
;D
This will be the "ONLY" one I will ever put together and I want to do it right.
I want to be able to both low smoke (sausage, etc.) and also Butts, Brisket, Ribs, Goats, Pigs, etc.
Probably 240* max temp. The Cabinet should hold the heat extremely well since it was an oven box.
I want to use a Bradley smoke generator thru a cold smoke adaptor so If I wanted to I could use an
alternative wood source for smoke with a hot plate setup.
I am kinda spoiled with a pid setup, so that almost is a must.

Looks very nice there crgPas ;D

Good things come to those who wait.
hal, I am excited.
Looks barely used...
Not that you can't FIX THAT....
It's tight. All corners welded and grinded.
Roof has about 4" of insulation.
Door gaskets at A+.
Gonna try to fire it up tomorrow and see what happens.
Now Future smoker 2 might become a charcoal smoker.
Well...did it work?
Fingers crossed!
