Hey All,
Just started my first smoke in my new D6R smoker. I got home late last night
from a business trip so I didn`t have time to prep/smoke jerky or ribs before I
head back out Monday. So peanuts it is!
So reading through the forum I decided the hot sauce peanuts was simple
and quick enough for me to do.
So heres what I got.
1/2 Wingers Hot Sauce
1/2 Franks X-Hot Hot Sauce
2 hours Hickory Smoke
4 hours total cook @ 225F
No butter in the house, but I will have it for the next batch.
I mixed everything up, lined my trays with tinfoil. Enlisted the
wife to poke holes in the tinfoil right before I took them out to
the smoker.
Really not sure what to expect for flavor. Wife is skeptical of
the whole ordeal but thats normal.

Food porn for those that care. I'll post finished pics when they are done.

Looks good so far, let us know how it turns out!
Looks good. Let us know how they turn out. Do you use unsalted peanuts or what did you use?

lookin good lumpydvc
i like to finish mine in the oven at 225F for a few hours afterwards, find they dry out a little better than in the Bradley
I used blanched unsalted peanuts.
Just got home and brought them in.
Wife isn't fussy on them. I on the other hand LOVE them.
Quite the hotness kick.
I had them on for 4 hours total and they are nice and dried.
Mmmmm.. Now to make more!
Lumpy DVC,
Put them in an airtight container and wait until tomorrow. You won't BELEIVE the difference in smoke and flavor.
Nice going.
Mmmm I have enjoyed my nuts. My wife still doesn't like them, which is fine,
more for me!
I gave away a container to a girlfriend of ours, she really liked my nuts.
I made 2 batches. One was 1/2 Wingers HS, 1/2 Frank's HS. It came out
medium/mild for hotness. The second batch was all Franks X-Hot HS and
came out screaming hot for hotness. I simply blended the two batches
together.
Hoping to do a another batch or two. I stocked up on airtight containers from
the Dollarama yesterday.
I would have never thought to smoke peanuts. This was a no brainer receipe.
Thanks everyone for your help guidance.
