I am a newbie here but I have had a obs for about 6 years. I recently decided to get a pid controller and want to do like bubba gump did and mount it in the smoke generator. I am looking for some pictures or a wiring diagram that can make it easier since i am not a electronics genius. one diagram seemed to have too many switches and i was not sure what they did. any help is greatly appreciated.
I can't help you with that, but Welcome to the forum.
Here is a link to one diagram:

If you are refering to this post from Bubba Gump, http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=2739.0 (http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=2739.0), this was done in a project box. There is another post from another member that did it inside the original Bradley smoke generator. I was not able to find the one Beefman did. He hasn't been on for a long time an most of his posted pictures are no longer active links.

I would not mount the pid controller inside of the smoke generator. Heat and smoke are not good for electronic things.

I had mine mounted inside the SG for a while and did not seem to bother although it was not an extended period so I don't know what a few years will do to the PID
