Welcome to the forum, CPU!

I've had great luck with alder or apple with trout.  Oak works really well with salmon, so it should be excellent with trout as well.  I;ve also mixed in a bit of cherry with either the apple or alder with salmon with tasty results.

BTW, if you've been brining in a strong salt solution for 24 hr, you might want to rinse the trout pretty well in cold water before smoking.

Thanks guys, I rubbed the trout with brown suger and sprinkled alpine salt mix on them and smoked with apple chips. They turned out great. Next weekend its ribs or tri-tip.

Welcome to the forum cpuracer. Being from Vegas and the desert, I bet you don't even have to plug the Bradley in to get it smoking. [:D][:D]
