Title: Determinate or Indeterminate
Post by: Oldman on April 10, 2010, 06:33:32 PM
Tomatoes come in one of two ways: Determinate  or Indeterminate. Deteminate produce all of their fruits at one time.

This past November I gave my Grandaughter a Patio tomato. During our overly cold spell it lost all of its fruits and basically died down. I was talking with my daughter this past week and dang if the Patio had not only grew back but re-fruited.  Patio tomatoes are deteminate.

Told her to save me some of those seeds. This will be interesting in the fall...

There are a lot of new varieties of "patio" tomatoes.  Burpee sells seed for a good number.  I plant at least six varieties each year and have had good success.

What varieties did you plant and what are your favorites?
