Title: Texicans 2.0
Post by: squirtthecat on April 22, 2010, 06:31:43 PM

CRG and I were BSing back and forth about Bradley mods and such...    He PMd me a couple weeks ago: "I'm making a bunch of fan shrouds - do you want one?"   "Sure!" I said...     I was leaving on vacation soon, so I didn't want him to go out of the way to mail it...

Got the box last week.   Priority Mail.  It was the smallest USPS box, STUFFED to the gills.

??? ???

The shroud + hardware was in a ziplock snack bag.   The rest of the box was filled with about a pound of this:

Tried a bit.  Holy Cayenne, Batman..

Thumbs up (yet again)  to our resident Smokin' Texican!     Thanks Sonny!

Once again, let me explain.

STC had a post where they went to St Loius (I think)

and he brought home some Salt Lick sauce, but no rub.

Well that ain't right. You gotta have both.

It's like a matching outfit! ;D

And it was his birthday!

Pat, the rub does have a bite, but is mellowed out with the sauce.

The Texican! ;D

Yep, Hal and I picked up a couple bottles of the Salt Lick sauce at Whole Foods in St Louis..
But they didn't have the rub.

Can't wait to try it out!  Do you think it would be good on a butt?

I've done both ribs and brisket. Have not done a butt with it.

I'm doing 40 lbs of butt tonight (post to be named later) for a 'deal' I'm working on.   Will do one with the Salt Lick rub..
