Title: best thing made on the obs
Post by: happy49219 on April 29, 2010, 06:58:36 PM
roll call what is the best thing you ever made on the OBS?  For me I have'nt made to much but the most complments I recieved was on my smoked trout.  I used the Petes wet brine on the Bradley web site.  It was so good and the trout was free from my neighbor.

So far I've done ribs, chicken and a brisket.  The ribs were amazing.  Doing a boston butt this weekend, will keep you posted on the results!

Oh, the trout sounds great, will have to try it.

Have not had a bad smoke yet - brisket, ribs, butt, salmon and salsa

Depends who you ask.  Pulled pork butt in my opinion was the best, but the wife thinks the canadian bacon has been the best thus far.  A bad day of smokin is still better than a good day at work!

The nice thing about the Bradley is that your screw-ups will be better than most peoples dead ringers.

I would have to say Pastrami. Made the mistake of giving some to friends so not only does the wife always pester me to make more, but so do the friends and co-workers. Oh well, tough job but someone has to do it.

Everything.
Good answer!

So far, it would be the ribs for me.  I'm trying to broaden my spectrum though.

Like Aggie said, pretty much anything.  Meats and poultry, bacon, fish, cheese, nuts, veggies (I love ABTs)bacon (did I say that?), fruits, sausage and bacon.  Just keep notes.  If you like it, great.  If it's not so great, you might want to modify the wood or smoke times.

The best part of this is DIY, live and learn.

Best thing out of my smoker according the the wife is either Candie Salmon or Lox.
My vote goes to bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breasts with a side of ABTs.

The best thing to come out of my smoker is the meat I just smoke.

Personally I think it was my Baby Back Ribs but the family won't stop talking about the Smoked Salmon and are always asking for more.

So far just about everything has been awesome.  Crowd favorites seem to be smoked salmon and chicken wings and I agree.  The wings rule!!!! Everybody likes all the ribs I've done but I'm still working on perfecting that.

For me it's ribs.   Hard to choose between the spare ribs and the baby back ribs though.   Other stuff has been very good, but the ribs are just wonderful.

For me,it's the BB ribs (3-2-1)! Just read the weekend flyers and the Superstore(in Ontario) had BBR on sale for $11.50 per KG.

I just picked up 2 slabs of them where I usually get them for $7.50 per KG,and they've always been great!Got them in a little Polish deli in Mississauga.

Their meat is AWSOME(?) !!

I just picked up a massive package of spare ribs tonight.  On sale for just over a buck a pound.  I like my foodsaver almost as much as my bradley smoker...... well.... not really.  ;D

Thanks for your comment on the foodsaver. I am in the market for one and your comment helps with my decision.

I actually have two foodsavers.  An older clam shell style one that allows you to control how much waste there is when making a bag and I have one of the newer models that is a bit wasteful when making bags.  I really like both of them.  I've got some of the round canisters, multiple marinade containers, bottle savers, you name it.  I use it everyday for saving leftovers and when I buy in bulk and load up the freezer.  A solid investment in my book.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack thread... now back to the best thing you've smoked on your OBS.....

No question about it - pork shoulder is the best.

I think I have a tie right now: bacon wrapped chicken breasts, which were brined for 24 hours....and pulled pork from bone-in butts
