I recently read a thread with the merits of being from

2.Canada
3. California
4. Alaska
5. For every where else i cannopt recall i humbly apologize.
There were some very interesting discussions of the merits of Cream of Wheat, Hominy etc., etc., etc.
My point is, it is just a matter of time 'fore we get a new category SMOKED GRITS isn't it?
first to enter will probably get some sort of recognition from Paula Deen dont you think?

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?
Smoked grits huh? I love putting just about anything on stone ground grits including various smoked meats but haven't thought about smoking grits themselves. How about smoking the uncooked grits (same time as you're doing kosher salt and nuts would be good) and then cooking them up? I'll have to put that on the experiment list.
I think smoked gritts is be something like smoked Zuccini squash. Good idea but [V].
I'd don't know if I want anyone to know I smoke my gritts anyway[:D].
