Title: Mother's Day Ribs
Post by: SnellySmokesEm on May 11, 2010, 08:00:24 AM
The wife wanted ribs for mother's day so I decided to get a 3 pack of Baby Back Ribs from Sam's.
I rubbed two of the BBR's with Batman of BBQ's rub and one rack with Famous Fred's Dry Rub.  I wrapped them tight in plastic and let them have sexy time for a day and a half.  I started the ribs in the smoker set at 225 at 5am with 2 hours of apple.  After 4 hours I wrapped in foil and added some apple juice and put back in the smoker for 2 more hours and backed the smoker down to 205.  I FTC'd the ribs after 6 hours total cook time.  The ribs ftc'd for 5 hours then I finished them off on the gasser.  I used 3 different sauces for the BBR's:  Toms (my personal favorite for ribs), Sweet Baby Rays (the wifes favorite), and Gate's and Son's (thanks Batman, now I'm out)  Man O Man these ribs turned out great!!!  Definitely my best yet.   :) :) :)  Enjoy the porn!

The ribs look great! I have to say there a VERY FEW recipies from Alton Brown that I dislike. If I want to make something my first thought is didn't AB do this on good eats?

Yeah I like his recipes but find his personality a little annoying sometimes.  Of course I added my own touch to the macaroni.  I added bacon, garlic and parmesan cheese.  I really like this one, its a keeper

Funny, I was just thinking about Alton's mac & cheese this past Sunday.  I think I'll go for it this coming weekend.

Everything looks Snelly.  Nice selection of rib flavors and it looks like they came out great.

I've also really enjoyed Tyler Florences ultimate mac and cheese. I did find it a bit dry so where he calls for white chedder I use half the cheddar and half montery jack. It made a great difference. Here is that link...

Oh I also double up on the bacon, onion and thyme topping!!

Those BBR's look superb!  Nice work.

Here's another Mac 'n Cheese from Food Network folks.  This was the grand winner on one of their showdown's - it is my cheese-head wife's favorite.  It is incredible:
