Title: Roger Waters: The Wall
Post by: oakville smoker on May 11, 2010, 12:34:12 PM
CRG:  you gonna be wishing you lived here unless this is coming to a city near you

We got 3 shows of The Wall here in Toronto in September
Tickets are outrageous with the high ticket being 264 Cannuck smakaroos
I hummed and hawed about getting tickets for this show
They went on sale yesterday, the first show sold out in less than 5 minutes
The second quicker than the first
A third show added and I spun the wheel at Ticketmaster
VOILA
6 row floors, left centre

The wife is obsessed with this and missed the original tour back in 84
Me being the nice guy I am mortgaged the house and bought 2 tickets
Bye bye bigger and different smoker !  Bye MAK    Bye Traeger  Just bye ....   LOL

There is a  guy on TV here who says happy wife....  happy life

I hope he is right !

Pink Floyd has an EXCELLENT light show and the sound stage is second to none.

I seen them twice in the 80's, some thing I will NEVER forget.

You WILL have a GOOD time.

Bought my tickets last week.

I've seen Roger Waters everytime he comes here which is about every other year.

Our concert is Nov 20th (during Hunting Season)

I will break the rules this year and miss some hunting for that.

Kinda wondering who all is playing with Him.

He had a star studded group when he did the Wall without the rest of PF years ago.

That is one of my favorite Albums. Brian Adams, Van Morrison, etc.

Off topic.

OU...I got to see some of the construction of the Qwest Center when I was in town for our NAPA marketing conference one year.  We stayed in (I think) the Holiday in that's on the South side of 480 and the center.  Same morning that they were imploding a building in the area and it went a little awry.  Good thing I woke up about 5 minutes before the boom...prolly would have had a heart attack if that was what woke me up.  Back to my watching...I saw them fly in a set of steps with one of the cranes, and a little other work.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled postings. ;D

Tim, you need to get this way again.

There building a new Baseball Stadium just NW of there.

Can you say Collage World Series?  :D

When I seen Floyd both venues were outdoors, one at Arrow Head Stadium and the other at an Am pa Theater in Iowa but I'll be damned if I can remember the correct name.

Must have been a good time.  ::)

Floyd, The Wall, Berlin Germany, 1989, The Wall Concert. Funny I don't remember much more than that about that evening. I was told I had a lot of fun. It was a great concert

Tickets here were $200, $100, $50.

Since I had to buy 4, I went middle class. ;D

Westfair is just East of Council Bluffs...that's the only Amphitheater that comes to mind (for Iowa anyway...I drove by one in Kansas City Kansas a couple of times).

Gonna be in Omaha in a week or 2...busy the last 2 nights getting our Auto Parts inventory in order to take back to our warehouse there...got another night, maybe 2 left of work to do in there yet.

CRG

200 for the top seats is better than what we got here

I am wondering if there will  be anything speciall with this tour / show
It will not be a repeat of Berlin and I pray its not a painstaking re creation of the album played live
Going to be interesting

Now I have to try and find some decent tix to RUSH.  Its becoming a challenge and I have a 15 year old who will be 16 in August
that all he wants more than anything is to see RUSH.  I am a fan but  prefer the more raw sound they had in the 70s when I first
saw them in tiny bars making a lot of noise for 3 guys

I prefer Pink Floyd w/ David Gilmour over Pink Floyd w/ Syd Barrett.

He's turned into a bit of an a$$ but he still plays great.

I have all his "solo" cd's and he's got some good tunes on those also.

My 2nd Son is 25 and moved back home.

He's never here except to eat, change clothes, shower, and take a nap.

His mother fixes him a plate of food to eat, washes his clothes, cleans his room, etc etc.

I sing the song "Mother" to him all the time.

I think it pisses him off. ;D
