Title: how to post pictures?
Post by: chiroken on May 14, 2010, 07:47:15 PM
This forum's search engine is useless...I've wasted so much time in the past week trying to learn about smoking by search specific topics. I now see many search the forum by doing google searches? Sounds backwards... >:(

Anyone help me on how to post pics? What do I put inbetween the "img" coding to post pics that I have on my computer?

Thanks

Someone who can explain it better will answer but most guys save pics to "photobucket" and then post from there.

I'm hoping I can just post from my pic folder and bypass the online uploading stuff. Haven't done that in along time, don't remember how to do that either.

You aren't suppose to gripe until your third week on the forum. ;D

thanks Arnie for the link, giving it a go now. Looks like I have to upload the picture, then go to each and resize? And CRG'er...I've put about 3 wks worth of time here in the past 1 wk so I qualify for gripe'n  ;)

You set your resize in photobucket once ... it does it for you.

Didn't know that.  I always edit and resize in Photoshop before uploading.

I was just going to say, If you go to the upload page there is a green bar that says"upload images and video" Right below that bar it says Tip:hold down CRTL to select multiple files. (more options). Click on the more options and you can set the size so that all your pics upload in the specified size.

Thank you for the excellent advice and detailed description Sonny  ;D ;D ;D

[Hijack]

I do all of my work in Photoshop first, including sizing.  My kick-around cam is close to dead.  It is/was a 4:3 aspect ratio, good for 800x600.  I'm now using my ancient DSLR which is 3:2, 35 mm format.

This is one of the last pics out of the old camera.  We had a lot of wind.  How that branch got into the middle of the front yard, I'll never know.  It was probably 3-4 inches into the ground.

FWIW, it takes less time to resize then upload, instead of uploading full size pictures and letting PB do it. The amount of time saved is proportionate to the megapixel size of the original image.
