Title: Hello from Rhode Island
Post by: MoonWa on May 20, 2010, 02:14:20 PM
While I am not new to smoking I am new the the Bradley Smoker.  Not being sure if this is the direction I want to go with smoking I purchased the portable propane model.  I have used it once so far trying to smoke a brisket and sausages at the same time.  The sausages came out perfect but the brisket took a lot longer than I had expected.  I'm sure the reason being the propane model does not have as tight a seal as the regular models.  I like the idea, i will try it some more and then decide if i want to make the investment into a more permanent model.

The BPS while capable is not optimal for doing big smokes like that. You would not be sorry for buying a OBS or DBS as they are more efficient at doing the big stuff. Good luck and good smoking. And welcome to the forum.

W E L C O M E  to the Forum MoonWa!

The BPS is more sensitive to ambient temps and wind.

The good feature about the BPS is portability.

I have used it to butts, briskets and a turkey. Not all at the same time.
