Title: Problems with tower
Post by: bever911 on May 29, 2010, 04:29:30 PM
I blew a fuse in my smoker the end of last year but never got around to looking to fix it.  Today I went and got a new fuse.  As soon as I plug the smoker into the gfi outlet, it kicks out.  I can unplug the tower from the smoke generator and am able to get power to the SG and it seems to be working just fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You can take ALL those screws off the back of your smoke tower and check for a loose wire.

When you start kicken a gfi it sounds like a direct short to me.

Try plugging the whole unit into a plug-in that doesn't have a GFCI on it and see what happens. Sometimes those GFCI's can be finicky. If it runs proper then the problem is with the GFCI.
