Title: Pork Butt

We are currently smoking 7 pound pork butt and we are wondering how long we actually apply smoke for.

4 hrs is normal, but I am not normal so I like 6. ;D

Don't be a conformist.  I do at least 5 and usually 6 on a butt that size.

I usually apply four hours of smoke, since we couldn't taste that much of a difference with 6 or 8.

I'm even less normal - 8 hours - sometimes more.  I like SMOKE!!!

Ditto 6-8 hours of smoke (hickory, pecan and oak) for the butt.  The more smoke the better
