Give this a try if you cant get Scotts where you live.

Ingredients

1 (20 ounce) bottle ketchup
1/4 cup paprika
1 pound dark brown sugar
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon black pepper (Table grind)
2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice (bottled is ok)

Directions

In a large container, mix together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, paprika, brown sugar, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Pour into an empty vinegar bottle, ketchup bottle or other container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

How much does that make?  Looks like 1/2 gallon, maybe?

I'll try to cut that by 1/4 and see how it turns out..

STC, Will give us a listen if you make this?

I am guessing that's a knockoff for  for the Scott's Backyard?  The "Original" Scott's is basically a Carolina hot vinegar, no sugar or tomatoes.

I went looking on the Scott's website and they don't show the Backyard anymore, so it's good to have a knockoff version.  They may have either sold it or dropped the product.  I found it on the Carolina Sauce Co. website - both listed together.

That looks like the original vinegar sauce -- classic NC.  Surprised it isn't blue.  What do the ingredients read?

vinegar, salt, pepper and spices.

I've got one bottle left, and that's what it says as well.

Maybe I'll try this first, and see how it is:

1 quart apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon black pepper (Table grind)
2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon garlic powder

Yep, that's the original Carolina vinegar sauce.  They have another with tomato that is rare outside their immediate area, not even shown on their website, but you can get it here (http://carolinasauce.stores.yahoo.net/bbq-sauces-scott-s-sauce-co-.html)
