Similar in principle to my Three Way (http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=15698.msg187483#msg187483), but the ratios are different.
Three-Way Barbecue Sauce
• ½ cup yellow onion, diced
• 1 Tbl vegetable oil
• 2 garlic cloves, smashed
• 1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
• 1 cup yellow or brown mustard
• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon cayenne
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
I'm a bigger fan of sweet with a kick! But I may have to try something like those to help broaden my... please let it be my horizons and not my waistline. :D
NePas and BLSH
How do you guys feel these compare to the flavor of Carolina Treet?
Mike
I don't have any recent experience with CT. But, it shouldn't be even close based upon my childhood memory and the ingredients. However, about a week ago I started a thread on formulating a CT knockoff here (http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=16298.msg195493#msg195493) -- read down through the thread and you'll see my own thoughts on adapting the starting point to approximate CT. Haven't heard that anyone has tried it.
Thanks BLSH... I'll check it out.
