Most barbecue festivals are fund raisers for a particular organization to raise additional funds to assist and/or provide more services to a certain group. Generally you will see them geared for children. It is nice to see one for the other end of the spectrum. :)

Being in Kelowna, you'd have no shortage of local wine to wash down the Q with!

Yeah no kidding.  Last time I was in that area (Penticton actually), we did a wine tour.  The wife spent over 400 bucks on wine and a matter of hours.  The wine tour was pretty fun though.
