Title: FIFA World cup
Post by: FLBentRider on June 26, 2010, 08:30:18 AM
[rant]

Ok so I get the whole "crowd noise" thing - I am one of those people at an NFL game. You know, make noise when the visiting team has the ball, quiet for your own team on offense, etc.

But this, angry bees sound. Seems to have no purpose. Other than to give me a headache. It's just a din. It doesn't vary on a change of possession, good play, etc. For those events, they cheer like "normal" fans.

I gave it a fair shake, not just the snippets on the news. I've had the URU/KOR game on the last hour, now I need an advil or a George Dickel.

No offense meant to anyone of South African heritage.

I can relate to that, I lost my voice at a hockey game. Talk about a blow hard, I didn't even need a vuvuzela.

I watched the USA/Ghana game today--sorry boys but I was rooting for Ghana. The Cup being held in Africa, Ghana being the only African team left and all. If the States had been playing France--I would have been all over the red, white and blue!

That's a good one--a soccer power we're not. Hal4uk--FIFA world cup is a soccer tournament--the largest sporting event in the world. It happens every 4 years--this year it is in South Africa.
