That's funny... So you rest your hand by typing? If you got any extra, I'll take um!
What great cuts of beef :)
I'm staying tuned because these are going to be good!

It's the Ronco FLBentRider Jerky Chunker, he slices, he dices, he turnes out great tasting hunks o meat.
So I ended up with 13lbs of chunks:
Adding HM jerky cure, fresh cracked pepper, and some soileau's bayou blend. Flip and repeat on other side.

All done, ready for a 48 hour rest in the reefer - it will go in the OBS and then 80L on Saturday.
That's 8lb in one bag, 5lb in the other.

Hope your hand came back to life after last night FLB. What's that "Member's Mark" beef? Anything like Maker's Mark ;D

It's better thanks. The beef is from Sam's club. I have some George Dickel, fresh out of MM.
That looks great FLBR. Will be watching this with interest.

This is how you apply pepper:

You need a Pork Puller to go with that!
i need t get me a meat slicer that handles raw meat
Nice pepper grinder FLBR, but I might have you beat.

DeWalt - the original pepper grinder.
What the ****. How did you guys come up with grinders like that?
One thing that I have found on this forum is that if a motor can somehow be attached to something that was never meant to have a motor, someone on this forum will figure out a way to put a motor on it. ;D
If a rub calls for 2-3 TBS fresh ground black pepper you could end up with a sore wrist doing it by hand.
I have a matching coarse sea salt grinder; works there too ;D
I also use the DeWalt to drill holes in the OBS. It's a real multi-tasker.
After the rest in the fridge:

Yeah, I forgot to empty the water bowl last night, I was smokin' some chicken for the Buffalo dip.
They are going to get an hour or two of Hickory.
There was ~2lbs that did not fit. I put it in the 80L @150F
That's a helluva load!
Are we placing orders yet?
Serious chunk'n there.
Looks good FLB
Oh man, those are gonna be so good!
They are all in the 80L getting happy.
You left your drawers open ;D :D ;D Lookin good FLB - the food not your open drawers.
That drawer don't close so good - kids - that is the main silverware drawer.
No one noticed that it took exactly 20 minutes to rack all that - 2.5 minutes per rack.
Great going FLBR! That should last you about a week ;D

Sounds about right. I plan on another load of this size in the next two weeks. ;D ;D
I yielded almost 7lbs
(http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk7/flbentrider/MAK/DSCN5841.jpg)
YUM YUM YUM! Did I mention YUM?
Looks great FLBR.
So you started off with 13 pounds and ended up with 7? Quite a reduction for sirloin.
You better get more started soon ;D
Looks good FLBR.
Man that looks great!
So I did 7 lbs on Saturday, and after looking at it, picked up another 17lbs today. trimmed it was 15lbs.
and I devised a new mixing/seasoning method:
dump it all in a big bus tub and get your hands dirty while your Mrs applies the seasonings...
I picked up a food grade bucket today at a nearby grocery store... Their deli sells them w/ lids for $2. That will be my new mixing container.
sweet job your pepper grinder rocks

Squirt that will make a good bucket to brine your own ham, chicken, turkey as well.
I found the cable for the camera:
15lbs of eye round:

That Looks awesome, I did my first batch last night, Guys at work at 30 strips in 45 mins...
Just a little jerky, about 6 quarts - turns out that is is also 6 lbs.
FLBR,
That is one awesome, kick-a$$, genious, ingenious, and awfully pretty pepper-grinder. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the photo of that. I've turned a few peppermills in my day (on the lathe), and I have an 18 inch tall one that I have yet to finish. Might have to find a replacement for my 18 volt DeWalt drill, or maybe the impact driver would better suit the purpose. You have my creative juices flowing, and when I combine jerky making with woodworking..., we just might have a very dangerous combination ;D ;D ;D
