Title: Took a break from tradition.
Post by: ronbeaux on July 04, 2010, 02:36:03 PM
Yeah I bought the hot dogs and stuff.

I made rojo enchiladas and some blanco too. Don't even asked me how because I was just grabing stuff. But, there was a theme to the rojo. I planned it all around the achiote maranada.

Couldn't make it pretty cause the stale corn tortillas wouldn't fold over. So I soaked them in the marinada to soften them up and built it like a lasgne. Good stuff!

Last night it was tuna. It sucked.

This particular tuna must have ran for his life for a few months straight before being caught!. It was a nice pink in the middle but was as chewy as an old leather glove???

You use strange words Ron.  Up here in New England we have potatoes, rocks, trees, etc.   ;D

Sorry to hear about the tuna.  I don't grill it.  I got a few hunks of fresh Sashimi grade for Friday night dinner.  An hour of Asian style marinade.  Drained and patted mostly dry.  Then coated with white and black sesame seeds with a bit of garlic and pan-seared to medium rare.  Did another hunk in the oven with OO at 300 until done.  Good for tuna salad, better than from a can.
