Title: Got a needle and thread?
Post by: hal4uk on July 04, 2010, 10:31:19 PM
We got so full yesterday at STC's party I didn't think I'd eat for another week or so  ;D
But, the neighbors invited us over for dinner/drinks before the fireworks show up the street...

Anyhow, I just thought this was interesting..
Our neighbor, Jenny, had these little "doily" (sp?) thingies -- They're made to fit the bottom of a wine glass...
(for what reason --- beats the heck outta me...)

But anyway, she sewed these little metal trinkets to the edges to make "glass covers" (?)
The idea is that gnats & flies & such don't get in there before you fill the glass...
(It was so dang hot today - you can see the ice had melted a bit before I snapped the pic)

I figgered she read it in Southern Living or something - but she just thought it up...
Kinda cool...

Now that is kewl, but I thought that was why God gave you two hands.

One to hold the glass and the other to cover the glass. ;D

That's why you leave the beer in the cooler till your ready to drink then hold your thumb over it between guzzles  ;D

My daughter left her coke unguarded one day and next drink had a yellow jacket sting on her lip.

Very cool...    She is so talented.

I wish I could have driven up, but I crashed about 10PM - just as your fireworks pics started rolling in.
