Title: Used pig sale
Post by: squirtthecat on July 07, 2010, 11:02:59 AM

So I was wandering through the meat aisle at Schnuck's...

Spotted 2 pork butts sitting there with 25% off stickers on them.  10+ pounds each.   Marked down to 89 cents/lb...

MINE.

Hasn't happened recently, so I pounded on them.    They must have been sitting there for a while because they are far too big for the average Crockpot Q'er to deal with...

Good thing I have a couple coolers sitting here in the office.      Heat index is near 100 today and I have to run a few errands after work.

Now - where oh where can I find a mechanized Pork Puller??

The regular sale price was 1.19/lb...   Which is a far cry better than 1.58/lb at Sam's.

I might have to start buying whole hogs.

$50 for a skinned, gutted, deheaded domestic hog that weights

100 lbs dressed.

And if neither Chris nor Hal will let you use one of their Ro-Man pork pullers, you can use mine!

Haven't seen a pork butt at 88 cents/lb since last year.  What the heck happened to the price of pig?

Great price.  You can't pass that up.

I saw Angus briskets for 99 cents/Lb.  Then Debbie poked me and said "Time to wake up."  Drat.

Yeah, no kidding...     Well over 2 bucks a pound at most of the grocery stores around here.   1.58/lb at Sam's.

Schnuck's (St Louis based chain) has them for 1.19/lb this week only.

If anyone has a Hy-Vee they are having a meat sale Thurs and Fri only 7/8-7/9 only if you can get it in a bag it is 15% off. Least that is what the add on TV says.

Picture from my phone finally appeared...

We're talking some BIG ole butts!    They spent the nice in the cafeteria fridge, and will go home with me tonight.

I'm picking up a newsed car for the MIL after work tomorrow, then those little piggies have a play date with my Traeger..

Our store is having that sale but with 10% off.

They jacked up everything 20% to give you 10%.

I think they will have a bunch of "USED" meat on sale

as everybody was looking and not buying.

I'm still wondering how "used" they were. Did a little old granny ride em, or are they partially chewed.
