This year, 2010, Dr Pepper is 125 years old.
They are celebrating the event by putting out some retro pics on cans of Dr Pepper.
Also these are being made with sugar, the old fashion way.

Some Dr Pepper History
(http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/classicrockgriller/MISC/Dr%20Pepper/SDC12444.jpg)
It says.......
"Dr Pepper originated at Morrison'd old corner drugstore in Waco, Tx in 1885. Charles Alderton, a young pharmacist working at the store,
liked the way the drug store smelled with all the fruit syrup aromas mixing together in the air and decided to create a drink that tasted like
that smell. Soon after, the store fountain couldn't keep up with demand for the new beverage. Almost 20 years after that,Dr Pepper was
introduced to nearly 20 million people at the 1904 World's Fair, and it's irrestible flavor continued to sweep the nation over the next several
decades. And while times have changed, Dr Pepper's unique flavor has always stayed the same. Now Dr Pepper, the oldest major soft drink
brand in America, is celebrating 125 years of unrivaled flavor and spirit. Join us in our celebration as we say, .................
...........CHEERS TO THE NEXT 125 YEARS!"
They have a 6 can collection and each 12 pk has a different can.
These are the two I have so far.

I'll have to keep an eye out for those. When I drink a soft drink I prefer DP! Thanks
Now for the real question - did they make the retro cans the old way with pull off tops or the new way with the tabs that bend into the can?

Naw, they bend into the can. But the taste is like I remember as a kid.
We have a store that carries the 6 1/2 oz glass bottles with sugar and they are like $1.25 each.
This 12pkg was $2.50 at Target. Sweet Drink, Sweet Deal.
It's a Texas thing. And that's a good thing!

Kevin, you're showing your youth. On old cans, which are new fangled to begin with (~75 years old), there weren't any pull tabs. That's why we carried "church keys" -- many stores gave them freely with a purchase of a beer to go, like they used to give matches away with a purchase of cigarettes. Pull tabs came nearly 30 years later.
Are they really telling you to drink 3 cans of Dr P at 10 am, 2pm and 4pm???? WOW!!! I wonder what else they use to put in there besides sugar?
If I ever get around to making my own beer, that's what the label is gonna say!
Dan, yes that was there logo. There was an old Dr. Pepper plant by my office in Dallas. When they tore it down to make way for a new Kroger, the only thing they retained was the old clock out front with the 10, 2 and 4 on it.
Here's two links to some more info on Dr Pepper.

Dr Pepper is the ONLY soft drink, I drink.
It is my mixer.
Started with Jack Daniels and Dr Pepper and called them Pepper Jacks. ;D
Pepper Jack's huh? Think I will stay away from Pepper Tito's.
Dang it CRG. Now I gotta go buy some Dr P and JD. Sounds too good.
I am now a Canadian Whiskey drinker.
Crown & DP or Canadian Hunter and DP.
Enjoying one right now! ;D
Ah, I see you've found the good stuff. Crown is my fave. Canadian Club is a close 2nd.

Actually now that you mention it, I do remember them. Been so long I wasn't sure if they were ever on soda cans or just the juice cans.
