Title: Pork Butt

So I am making a pork butt for mom on her birthday this weekend. I made my first one couple of weeks ago and it came out really well. I wanna try a new version though.

I was watching food network and I saw people who injected their pork butt?? I was thinking of doing this. OR putting it into a brine over night.

What are your opinions? Which shall I do? OR BOTH?? LOL

I have neither injected or brined a butt but lots of guys and gals on here have.  They will be along to guide you.  Don't wanna disappoint Mom on her birthday! :D

Ya I didn't last time either and it was Fantastic!

That's why I am thinking I'm gunna go with the injection.

I have injected Butts with both tony chaterre's and cajun injectors.

Comes out great and does add taste and moister to the butts.

CRG has done just about everything you can possibly do to a pork butt.  He knows of which he speaks.

100% agree. 4 to 7 hours of Lovin FTC will make your Butt Shine!

I personally don't try something new when I am cooking for a bunch of people. That's just me, I like to keep my mistakes to myself so they all think I know what I am doing ;D ;D

I am riding with CRG on this one!
have done the injection with Tony's and it totally rocks!
the only recommendation i would make would be, rinse and rub your butt the way you like.
then inject just before you put it in the smoker.
This is personal preference, i injected and rested overnight (then smoked) only to find that it made the inside
a little softer (mushy) than i like.
