Title: First chicken
Post by: Uncle Pigfat on August 01, 2010, 04:30:52 PM
Best chicken I've ever had. Brined for 11 hours, dried in the fridge for 12, then smoked and grilled to perfection.

Served with lemon garlic Dijon asparagus, cornbread muffins, and my very own dr pepper 'que sauce.

I likes my chicken charred. It was crispy chicken candy.

Ain't nothin wrong with crispy skin chicken.

I have about 8 versions of Dr Pepper BBQ sauce that I have collected.

Since I am a Dr Pepper freak, I had to try them all.

I don't mind a little extra flavor on mine either.

The final result of my Dr. Pepper sauce kind of tastes like Stubb's Original with a harsher vinegar sting, a little heat, and Dr. Pepper, of course.  The soda almost gives it an allspice flavor.  I'm still working on it but it is darn tasty.  The folks I've fed it to seem to agree.  I'll have to share the recipe once I dial it in.
