Title: Is this a good deal on a stuffer?
Post by: bilder on August 08, 2010, 03:35:45 PM
Been looking at stuffers and came across this refurb unit from LEM.

http://www.lemproducts.com/product/3558/194

Would you recommend this or would you go with a vertical?

I really can't remember a pic of a non-vertical stuffer here on the Forum.

Probably has been, just don't remember seeing it.

And that is just a little less than a new 5lb vertical.

But, It does come with the SS stuffing tubes which are $$.

90 day warranty and 30 day money back guarantee.

I bought the LEM 5 lb vertical a few weeks back then made my first SS after some supplies were given to me my good friend CRG.  I cannot see why you would go with the what I will call a horizontal model.  The vertical kicks ass.  Below is a link to my first SS post.

I have the vertical LEM 5lb also, Ya just cant beat it when you do 5 or 10lb batches. Now when i do like 80-100 lbs at a time in hunting season......well thats when a motorized stuffer comes in handy.

Never mind.

They ship UPS.  UPS sucks when shipping stuff up here to Alaska.  Minimum 24 bucks shipping and with a heavy item like this it will probably be at least 45 bucks. UPS has their second largest hub in the world up here and they still act like they are going out of their way to ship up here.

Going to have to buy local.  Cost is less to buy local if you factor in UPS rape shipping charges.  If you are going to do business with Alaska ship USPS or FedX.

If they shoot them an E-mail, they may do the usps or fed-ex for ya.

I have order from them 3 times and they are pretty good to work with.

LEM 5 lb. vertical, with the jerky attachment, and I can not sing enough praises.  Good unit, steel gears, as opposed to the plastic ones that most other 5 lb. stuffers have.

I have not talked to anyone that has a horizontal stuffer, but I can only guess that it is slightly more efficient when stuffing.  Just my humble opinion.
