This is my first year growing blackberries. I know due to the lack of winter here that the roots should burn out in 3 years. However, I need to know if I should cut back the canes? The ones I have are thornless. This year was the 1st and they produced a few huge berries.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Olds
I had a variety of Blackberries from Texas A&M that were thornless and produced a berry about the size of your thumb.
From reading this link and adjustin the time it was probably the "Navaho".
Hope this helps.

Never heard of tame blackberries. They grow wild EVERYWHERE here. Actually become a pest. Grows in monkey grass, bushes, fences, - virtually everywhere. Can't get rid of the stuff.

In this area they have Berry Farms that let people come pick their own. Both Black and Blue.
I tried to grow them, but they didn't make it. My grapes took over and now I don't have room to try again.
