Title: Enjoying summer
Post by: car54 on August 12, 2010, 04:59:55 AM
Nearly 5 weeks ago I and other people were laid off from work. We were told 2 to 3 weeks and then we would be called back. We were also told not to call our boss, he would call us. My boss is as a major control freak.

I am getting unemployment and at least it is summer and a hot one. It is not the worst time of the year to be laid off and I have been getting some work done at home. I am able to keep an eye on my grandson and spend some time with him.

Now!, my wife has probably torn her knee acl and will need surgery. It happened at work but Workman's comp. is denying the claim because of a technicality which I am hoping to get resolved. She may be out of work for a 2 to 3 months.

Some way we will get through it. It is nice not having to go through all the "crap" that is involved in working so we are enjoying the time off and making the best of it.

I don't think I have to ask if you have a fishing pole in that grandsons hand. Hope everything works out for you and the Misses.

10.5,

It is interesting that you mentioned fishing. On Monday we are going on a Lake Michigan chartered fishing trip which the kid is getting for free. Besides that we have gone to the go kart track where he is helping me get quicker. He is usually 1.5 seconds per lap faster then me. When he turns 15 in 2 weeks we will be in the same class. I have much improvement to make.

Sorry to hear that Brad.  Enjoy the time off.  I'm sure you'll be back at work soon.
