Well I just signed up for a BBQ judging class to be held up here in Canada.
The Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association is putting on a class here in Langley, just down the street form our office.
By Monday morning I will be an official BBQ Judge. Hoping to judge my first BBQ this September right here in town at
the BBQ On The Bypass ( http://www.bbqonthebypass.com/ ) I can hardly wait.

Congrats Ross! Sounds like a Fun deal.
Will be interesting to hear your opinion on what you taste at the cook offs
verses the taste of what you cook at home.
Ross, that sounds like a lot of fun...
Sweet. I like getting to taste everybodies food. It helps.
Very cool! Congrats and good luck. It sounds fun!
That sounds like fun.
I think about going, but will it make me a "BBQ snob" ?
Ross, where do I sign up??? I'd love to take part in a local class like that. Who doesn't like free competition grade food????
As of today there was one spot left. You can sign up at
Well Seasoned, http://www.wellseasoned.ca/ The cost of the
course is $50.00 plus tax.

Dang, I think I missed it.

I am now an official BBQ Judge and it looks like I will be a judge at
BBQ on the Bypass on September 19th. It is the first one I can make.

ConDa@@Grats Ross! I'm happy for you!
So now on my chicken turn in! Should I use just a thin set of sauce or is a thicker glaze more presenting? I really need to know!
I've heard you could 3-5 lbs of meat judging a contest so be careful and enjoy! Congrats!
Definitely learned a lot about how judges think taking the course. There were
four different BBQ teams there taking the course also, just figuring out
the way a judge thinks and exactly what they are looking for. We are
NOT looking for Tony Romma ribs :D thats for sure. Other than that
I am looking forward to doing some judging. At a full out competition
we were told to bring a cooler to put our leftovers in. We will be served
up to 10 lbs of meat at a competition. It's hard work but someone has to do it. ;)

Just take it one bone at a time, and
struggle on!!! DO IT FOR THE TEAM!!!!
Awrighten.
Congrats Ross! Wish I could have made it. Oh well, maybe next year.
Let the games begin!
Could I fly you south so TR and I know what to do for our competition? LOL ;D
Really sounds like fun!
