For the first time in over a year Jan and I took Big Red out today. 1936 Ford Phaeton. 555 made. List price was $690. I didn't pay that for mine. ;) Franklin D. Roosevelt had one. His had hand controls even way back then. His didn't have a 327 Chevy with headers, 4 barrel Edelbrock carb and manifold and wasn't painted Porsche Red. :D
Phaeton means "open air". It has no windows. Mine also has no heater nor windshield wipers so it's definitely a sunny day car. It rarely sees the light of day because the glass pack mufflers are directly under the front seat floorboards and driving it in 90+ degree weather is HOT! Today it is 78 degrees with low humidity. Perfect weather. Supposed to be that way all weekend. Perfect Labor Day weekend weather.

Fix the cigarette lighter...
Elwood: Oh no.
Jake: What the f**k was that?
Elwood: The motor. We've thrown a rod.
Jake: Is that serious?
Elwood: Yup.
Very nice ride!
