Title: Hello from Montreal
Post by: b2dive on September 10, 2010, 04:30:02 PM
Hello everyone, I am looking at getting a Bradley Smoker, and I would like some advice on which one to get, the Original versus the Digital, plus and minus on both models.

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sooooo looking forward to getting my Bradley and starting smoking - I tried some amazing cold smoked salmon in Ireland and in my research the Bradley came highly recommended to do so, so here I am.

Hi b2dive and welcome to the forum.  I'm sure you'll get LOTS of opinions.

Personally, I'd go for the Original with a PID; great temperature control.  Yhat's what I have.  Unless of course you need more than four racks.

I agree with the OBS and the dual PID. I think you get all the benefits of the digital and better temp control for about  the same price. Unless as stated, if you need the larger capacity.

IF .... money is not a problem, I would get the Digital with the PID.

The digital is built better and the quality is better.

Welcome to the forum! If I were to do it again, I'd still go with the digital 6 rack that I bought. Haven't had any problems with it and been cranking out some great smokes.

Welcome b2.  I have an OBS with no PID and love it.  Have had a few door issues that seem to not be there on the digital.

I have the original without PID and have had no problems with it.  If you think you enjoyed the Cold Smoked Salmon, wait until you try Kummok's Hot Smoked recipe.  Seeing as you're from La Belle Province, you can always add a little Maple Syrup to the mix and you'll never go back.

Good luck with your decision and welcome to the forum.
