Title: smoking time

how do you stop the pucks from advancing and yet keep the heat running as i only want to smoke for an hour or so during the process.i have the original bradley smoker.

Just load as many pucks as you'll need for smoke.  1 puck = 20 minutes of smoke.  The last 2 pucks won't advance on their own, so you'll need to pop the door open and scoot them onto the burner with a screwdriver/stick/whatever. (unless you have bubba pucks - aluminum blanks that you can load on top of the wood pucks)

Leave the smoke generator running to provide additional heat.   It'll continue to cycle, but that won't hurt anything.
