Title: Canucklehead Thanksgiving weekend--what's smoking?
Post by: tsquared on October 07, 2010, 07:45:19 PM
It's time for the north country to haul out the big turk. What's on the menu? We're doing the traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus a whack of cold smoked sockeye to start it all off. My cousin's kids are all in their late teens and I think they can polish off  more smoked salmon than I've ever seen anyone eat! I hope you and yours have a great weekend and a good dinner.
Cheers,
T2

Basically I planned for the same thanksgiving. But instead of the kids coming out to Victoria for smoked salmon, I am taking the salmon to them in Alberta.

Have a great Turkey Day!

No smoking for me this weekend.  Just travelling.  Bracebridge on Saturday visiting my wife's Aunt & Uncle and then over to my parent's place in Fenlon Falls.

It's OK, September was a good smoking month for me.

Hey how about that opening game over the Habs last night?  Boy the bandwagon feels pretty good right now.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

While SWMBO is making turkey dinner I will be tending the smoker making LOX using Spyguys recipe. Since no one but me knows how easy it really is I will be kicking back and relaxing until dinner time ::) maybe with a glass of rum or whiskey. Just picked up some new stuff that I have not tried before so Thanksgiving is the day to crack one or both of them ;D

I'm not going to get too smug over one game.  I've learned my lessons.

Not being a Canuck, I will just respect the day with some fire-hot wings that wifey just hates. It's just for me and Canadian Bros!

Besides being thanksgiving here, my wife and I will be celebrating 41 years of wedded bliss.    The kids will be here and so will the grandchildren.    The guest of honor will be a turkey done the traditional way with dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and lots of gravy.    Hope everyone has a great day.   I know I will.
